FLiCKERFEST 2022 WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT

After a highly successful 10 day festival at Bondi the 31st annual FLiCKERFEST International and Australian awards were announced this evening at a star-studded ceremony under the stars on Bondi Beach. Attended by celebrated guests from the Australian film industry, the Closing Night ceremony honoured the esteemed entrants in this year’s competition and FLiCKERFEST’s Academy® Qualifying Awards, including Flickerfest Award for Best International Short Film, Yoram Gross Award for Best International Animation, Panasonic LUMIX Award for Best Australian Short Film & Flickerfest Award for Best Documentary. The Flickerfest Short Film Awards continue to cement the festival’s global position as a leading International Short film festival on the world stage. A NIGHT OF HORROR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL RELEASES PROGRAMME

A Night of Horror is making its festival a virtual event, with films streaming on-demand over two weeks, 18 – 31 October 2021, and it promises a spectacular program. SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FIRST FILMS

SF3 Smartphone Film Festival

 Australia’s international smartphone film festival, the SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3) returns for its 7th big year – with entries now open:      * the SF3 Gala Awards – short films up to 20 mins in length;       * SF3 Kids and SF3 Teens – short films made by filmmakers 16 years and younger       * SF3 Feature Film Award – feature films 40 mins and longer;      * SF360 – Virtual Reality (VR) and 3D/360 degree films up to 20 mins in length;       * SF3 Mini: ‘RISE’ – shorts with a maximum three minute time limit SF3 Mini is a reimagining of the popular and timely ‘ISO’ Award last year – where filmmakers were challenged by their home lockdown circumstances. SYDNEY FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FELLOWSHIP FOR FIRST NATION FILMMAKERS

Sydney Film Festival and Deutsche Bank today announced that submissions are open for an exciting new grant for Australian First Nations film creatives.  The Deutsche Bank Fellowship invites film creatives to submit applications before 18 July 2021. The winning Fellow will be awarded a $20,000 grant to further develop their skills through international placement, or other professional development. The Fellowship is an important investment in developing and nurturing the talents of local creatives and enhancing global awareness of Australia’s vibrant Indigenous filmmaking talent. Eligible applicants are welcomed from creatives, screenwriters, producers, directors and actors with a proven track record in their chosen field.The successful candidate will be selected by a panel of key industry personnel, and the Fellowship will be awarded at the 68th Sydney Film Festival which will take place 18-29 August 2021. Taiwan Film Festival Short Film Competition

Short Film Competition is now open for submissions Submissions Close: 29 March 2020.  The 3nd Short Film Competition Award aims to develop and bring up the Taiwanese and Australian new talents by premiere their work at the 4rd Taiwan Film Festival in Australia. The competition will have two parts in selecting the works; the first part for the Taiwan Film Festival in Australia programming team to select 4 finalists to be in the competition and screen their works during the festival.
